Since beginning over a decade ago, the Human Rights Awards Gala has brought together activists, supporters, and friends to recognize the efforts of exceptional individuals and organizations working for human rights from around the country and around the world.

After ten great years of Human Rights Awards, we’re evolving:

More intimate venue, more affordable tickets, and a streamlined program. Join us May 10, 2012 as we celebrate our 2012 Human Rights Awards Honoree Annie Leonard & your People’s Choice Honoree.  Enjoy wine, passed hors d’oeuvres, and the company of Global Exchange board, staff and fellow supporters.

Help us select this year’s People’s Choice honoree – nominate and vote for your human rights hero starting 9AM February 13th – 5PM on March 19, 2012.

The Global Exchange Human Rights Awards strives to recognize the individuals and groups making a lasting difference, including those heroes whose efforts may have previously gone unrecognized.  Spanning the globe, these honorees represent a multiplicity of professions, tactics, and aspirations.  Though diverse, they are unified by a common drive to preserve and protect human rights.  Past honorees include:
